Nechako Valley Historical Society

The Nechako Valley Historical Society is passionate about our local history – from First Nation artifacts and stories, to the first pioneers of the area, to famous folks that called Vanderhoof home.

The society puts on a wide range of events and activities over the year, as well as maintains the Vanderhoof Community Museum that showcases beautifully restored 1900s period buildings, train cars, an expanding heritage park, and interpretive walking trails. The society also manages the OK Café – a wonderful place to enjoy a fresh-made meal in one of the historical buildings of Vanderhoof.

The society is run out of the musuem site that is backed by natural forests and Stoney Creek.
